Comcast's RISE program will provide 100 small businesses in the Wasatch Front region with $3 million in support, including technology upgrades, media production, educational resources, and monetary grants to help entrepreneurs grow and succeed.

Comcast is set to bolster small business growth in the Wasatch Front region by awarding comprehensive grant packages to 100 local entrepreneurs. The Comcast RISE initiative will distribute $3 million in support, targeting small business owners in Utah's key municipalities including Bluffdale, Draper, Herriman, Riverton, Sandy, South Jordan, West Jordan, and White City.
Each selected business will receive a multifaceted support package designed to address critical operational needs. The grants include a $5,000 monetary award, computer equipment, internet and cybersecurity services, a professionally produced 30-second television commercial, media strategy consultation, and a 180-day media schedule. Additionally, recipients will gain access to 12 months of online entrepreneurship courses and personalized business coaching.
The Wasatch Front program is part of a broader national effort by Comcast, which will support 500 small businesses across five regions, including Boston, Grand Rapids, Nashville, and Seattle. Since launching in 2020, the RISE program has already supported 14,000 entrepreneurs nationwide, demonstrating a significant commitment to small business development.
J.D. Keller, senior vice president of Comcast's Mountain West Region, emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses, noting that these entrepreneurs are crucial to economic development and community vitality. The program aims to provide innovative resources that can help small businesses overcome challenges and drive growth.
For human resources professionals and business leaders, the Comcast RISE initiative represents a strategic approach to supporting entrepreneurial ecosystems. By offering comprehensive support beyond traditional financial assistance, the program addresses multiple dimensions of business development, including technology infrastructure, marketing capabilities, and professional education.
Small business owners interested in applying can submit their applications between May 1 and May 31 through the Comcast RISE website. The program's holistic approach to supporting entrepreneurs could serve as a model for other corporate social responsibility initiatives, highlighting the potential for targeted, multi-dimensional support in strengthening local business communities.
